Today we are excited to announce that Phuture v2, the world’s first non-custodial, multi-chain asset management protocol is finally ready for the public to start using.

Phuture v2 is delivering the following key features:

  • Multi-chain trading and accounting — Indices can buy, sell and hold assets across any EVM compatible chain
  • Cost effective primary market — The gas costs associated with minting and redeeming have been drastically reduced
  • Cash reserve system — Atomic minting and redeeming of multi-chain indices now possible through the internal cash reserve system
  • Broader asset pricing — Integrations with Chainlink, API3 and Redstone allow for the pricing of over 1000 assets
  • Tight trade execution — Integration with 0x for all trades ensures optimal routing and best prices.

These features make Phuture v2 the most advanced and efficient asset management platform ever designed. It powers better index products and provides investors with the following benefits:

  • Broader and more complete exposure to the crypto markets, providing wider coverage of sectors, themes and ecosystems
  • Ensuring indices are truly representative by allocating capital to assets across the entire EVM network of chains
  • Delivering superior performance vs single chain indices and outperforming the respective native asset benchmark
  • Saving time and expense manually managing assets across multiple blockchains

Licence

Phuture v2 will launch under the Business Source License 1.1 — effectively a time-delayed GPL-2.0-or-later licence. The licence limits use of the v2 source code in a commercial or production setting for up to four years, at which point it will convert to a GPL licence into perpetuity.

Note that the BUSL 1.1 does not affect integrations. All code that may be needed for external integrations has been licensed under GPL or MIT.

Check out this post for more details on the licence.

Audit

We believe security is of the utmost importance — it took hundreds of hours of testing for us to feel comfortable with launching Phuture v2.

Our security process for v2 included:

  • An auditing and review process from our engineering team
  • An auditing and review process from an external team of security researchers
  • A comprehensive test suite, including unit, integration and invariant tests.
  • Scenario analysis of corner case and disaster situations

Major bugs discovered as part of the testing and auditing process were fixed. However, we would like to note that Phuture v2 is an extremely complex protocol and we cannot guarantee all bugs have already been discovered and resolved.

The Launch

The beta of Phuture v2 is live and available through Trackr on the Arbitrum network. The first product going live is the Trackr Liquid Staking Index, providing unprecedented exposure to the top liquid staking and restaking tokens on Arbitrum, Polygon and Avalanche.
